Cabbage, Bacon and Fennel Sauté

A tasty side dish with the crunch of cabbage, smoky bacon and a touch of fennel.

Serves: 4-6
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 slices streaky bacon, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1/2 white cabbage, thickly shredded
  • sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • paprika, for sprinkling

Heat oil in a large frypan and fry bacon until golden. Add fennel and sauté until aromatic, then add cabbage and stir sauté until just cooked but still a little crisp. Season and serve sprinkled with paprika.
