Ginger Spice Duck Drumettes
A great way to cook up the duck wings that come attached to duck breasts when you buy them. They are best slow cooked first before crisping up later.
Makes: | 12 |
Preparation Time: | 10 minutes |
Cooking time: | 2 hours (slow cooking) plus 10 minutes grilling |
Ingredients
- 12 duck wings (drumettes)
- 1 cup ginger wine
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 teaspoon Chinese five spice
- sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
- coriander leaves, for garnish
Method
Combine duck drumettes, ginger wine, garlic and five spice together in a roasting dish and season with salt. Cover with foil and roast at 150°C for 2 hours. Cook under a hot grill for 5-10 minutes, turning occasionally to brown all over, until they are golden and the sauce has been reduced to a glaze to coat the wings. Serve sprinkled with sesame seeds, garnished with coriander leaves.
Tips
Chicken drumettes/wings can also be used.
