Whether your Mum is a super cook, or one that just gets on with the job of providing sustenance for the family in a fuss free way, one of the sweetest things you can do to show your appreciation, is to cook for her.
Why is that?
Well, when you have someone in mind when you are cooking, a lot of love comes into play. What do they like to eat? What is the occasion? How can I make it special? Maybe I can surprise them?
Most Mums would agree that the act of simply putting in your time and thought to plan, shop and prepare is enough in itself. It doesn’t reallllly matter what you cook!
And if it’s dinner, well, if Mum doesn’t have to think about what to cook for a change, well, that’s a bit of a bonus.
Since Mother’s Day is coming up, here is a very easy to make slice that features fresh raspberries, but you can easily use blueberries, sliced nectarines, peaches or canned fruit instead.
If you are planning breakfast in bed for Mum, don’t forget you’ll find heaps of great brekkie recipes on my FOODCENTRIC recipe database – just click here for the Breakfast & Brunch Collection
Just get in the kitchen and create something for her and don’t forget to add in that secret ingredient…a big spoonful of love!
Big kiss,
P.S. If you would like to get a food loving Mum a unique experience as a gift, then why not shout her a spot at my next Foodcentric Gathering Cooking Class? My WINTER classes are on 1st or 2nd June
