Tapas… what a concept… at any time you can have a snack, a meal or an amusement, anywhere…
⠀
Originally it was a small, salty savory that was served on the rim of your glass (tapa means ‘top’ in Spanish) to accompany your drink, and make you thirsty enough to drink more…oh, those wily Spanish bartenders!
⠀
Now, it has evolved into more of a lifestyle in Spain, and especially in Barcelona, where there is a tapas bar every few metres.
⠀
Whether you choose from the staples like pan con tomate (bread with tomato), spicy patatas bravas or morsels of seafood, or something more novel or sophisticated…it will always be appetising and made to share…adding to the conviviality that is the Spanish way.
⠀
If you are looking for where to eat tapas in Barcelona, at Tapas24 ( @carlesabellanchef ) every dish is delectable and innovative, and no matter what you are drinking, your tastebuds will be singing… and after a few, so will you…
⠀
Enjoy,
⠀
P.S. The bikini sandwich is one of my faves… a pan fried toastie filled with jamon, truffle and buffalo mozzarella… and cut into triangles to resemble, well, a… bikini!
