Eating out is a pure pleasure – a chance to relax and be immersed in the tastes that someone else has prepared with their own creativity, resources and effort. It is a constant source of inspiration and new discovery.  Here are some favourite experiences I have enjoyed and wish to share to both remember and salute the establishments that have given me those wonderful moments!

From the moment you turn into the tree-lined drive of Trofeo Estate, you can easily imagine you are in the Italian countryside surrounded by grapevines. The feeling only grows as you set foot inside the rustic 1930s refurbished cannery that is home to the cellar door and Whispering Vines restaurant. This is old world meets [...]

QT Kitchen Pork Belly Bao

A little quirky but cosy at the same time, this surprising Vietnamese restaurant in the middle of the burbs actually delivers on food, service and ambience in one hit. We dropped in for a light Sunday dinner and grazed on Duck San Choi Bao, Grilled Chicken Rice Paper Rolls, Soft Shell Crab with Vietnamese Slaw, [...]

Ichi Ni Na Na sushi

Cool, funky and dimly lit, Ichi Ni Na Na  is a groovy, bustling izakaya that feels more like a nightclub and is best when it’s busy. There are different spaces to sit in from cozy booths, to outdoor areas and subterranean spots, to suit any mood. The menu is extensive and every dish is a [...]

Palermo 091217 firepit

Vegans beware…this is no place for you! Palermo is first and fore-mostly a temple for meat lovers only and in true Argentinian-style, fire-roasted meat at that. After a few empanadas and a pisco sour, smoky and succulent slow roasted pork, beef and lamb arrived after a four hour stint on the asado fire pit to [...]
