Buffalo Mozzarella with Nectarines, Honey and Petals
This is a whimsical dish that looks as pretty as it tastes. Serve it after a meal instead of the cheese course or dessert, or just make it because it tastes lush and looks divine.

Ingredients

  • 200g buffalo mozzarella bocconcini, drained
  • 2 fresh nectarines or peaches, cut into wedges
  • extra virgin olive oil, for drizzling
  • honey, for drizzling
  • sea salt and pepper, to taste
  • edible petals, for garnish

Method

  • Tear bocconcini into pieces and arrange on a serving plate with nectarines.
  • Drizzle with oil and honey.
  • Sprinkle with salt, pepper and edible petals.
  • VARIATION Burrata or stracchino cheese make a great alternative to buffalo mozzarella.

Tips

  • TIPS Fresh edible petals are available at gourmet greengrocers. You can use edible garden flowers like nasturtiums and rose petals, but be sure they haven’t been sprayed!
  • STYLING Drizzle honey boldly across the plate from a height for a thin, continuous drizzle.
  • DRINK MATCH Sparkling or farmhouse ale.
