Chocolate Tahini Brownies
The intriguing swirl of tahini in these rich chocolate brownies adds a delicious nutty edge that offsets their sweetness.
Makes:
32 bite size squares
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- 200g dark chocolate chips
- 125g butter
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
- 2 eggs
- 160g jar Al’ Fez Natural Tahini Paste, stirred well*
- 1 cup plain flour
Method
Butter and line a 20cm x 30cm slab tin. Reserve 1/4 cup chocolate chips. Melt the remaining chocolate and butter together in a large microwave-safe bowl on Medium for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Mix in brown sugar, vanilla, eggs and 3/4 of the tahini until smooth. Stir in flour. Pour into slab tin and sprinkle with reserved chocolate chips. Dollop with remaining tahini and decoratively swirl into the mixture with a fork. Bake at 180°C for 20 minutes until just firm to the touch. Allow to cool in the tin. Serve cut into small squares.
Tips
* The sesame seed sediment in tahini may naturally settle to the bottom of the jar, so mix with a fork before briskly shaking the sealed jar until the tahini is smooth.
