Smoked Cheddar and Salami Savouries

The combination of smoked cheddar and spicy salami make these bite size savouries the perfect passaround.

Cooking Time: 12 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup thick tomato passata or puree
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 200g Italian style salami
  • 170g wedge King Island Dairy Stokes Point Smoked Cheddar, cut into shards
  • smoked paprika, for sprinkling

Method

Cut each puff pastry sheet into 16 squares and arrange on baking trays. Combine tomato passata and oil and spoon a teaspoon onto each pastry square. Top with a slice of salami and bake in the upper half of the oven at 220°C for 12-15 minutes until puffed and golden. Top hot pastries with shards of King Island Dairy Stokes Point Smoked Cheddar, sprinkle with paprika and serve immediately.

Tips

  • Substitute the smoked cheddar for King Island Dairy Pepperberry Cheddar or Surprise Bay Cheddar.
  • Use the fan forced oven setting to cook two trays of savouries at the same time, rotating them if necessary.
